What do you need help with?

As a Counsellor and Somatic Therapist, I specialise in working with adopted people, people who are single on purpose, people who are single or dating, people without children, people going through major life changes (such as identity and existential transformations, career changes, lifestyle changes), and those who feel stuck or in a rut.

As a Therapeutic Guide, I offer reflective prompts to support your exploration of Self to understand how you think, feel, make decisions, regulate your nervous system, create safety in your body through tolerating the physical sensations of your intellectually named emotions, and find or create safety in the broader contexts and systems we exist in and with.

Our work together in these capacities may include:

  • Making sense of self - values, purpose, exploring “why I am the way I am, why I think the way I think, why I feel the way I feel”

  • Developing and strengthening felt sense of Self through feeling and understanding the physical sensations of your lived experiences

  • Personal development through emotional growth

  • Improved communication skills

  • Developing healthier relationships – with yourself and others

  • Finding a more consistent sense of calm and stable state of Being

  • Working through a specific challenge, or emotional block

Counselling + Therapy + Guidance

Kimberley works with people to make sense and meaning of life's experiences to understand why they are the way they are today, and what to do with this information moving forward. This includes getting to know how they process emotions and experiences, leaning into what it feels like to Be in every feeling - the warm, the sweet, the icky, the sticky, the wobbly, the light and shade and everything in between; felt Sense of Self.

Kimberley draws on her training in counselling, somatic psychotherapy, trauma-informed yoga teaching, meditation teaching, EMDR, corporate communications; and lived experience.  She works somatically, looking at how the body stores and reacts to stress, trauma, inputs and stimulation of everyday life, to work through bringing mind, body, and essence together. Kimberley is also trained in Integrative Lymphatic Drainage Massage.

Personal growth and transformation: nurture your natural intelligence

Emotional Intelligence growth to meet yourself where you are by understanding why you think the way you do, then identifying ways to grow your compassion and tolerance.

Improved communication skills by finding your voice and honouring your needs - define your values and boundaries, and know how to communicate these with yourself and others.

Cultivate a daily meditation practice to release stress from the body, mind, and soul.

I work with people to make sense and meaning of life's experiences so we can understand why we are the way we are today, and what we want to do with that information in decision making and ways of being.

This includes getting to know how you process emotions and experiences, leaning into what it feels like to be you in every feeling - the warm, the icky, the sticky, the wobbly, the light and shade and everything in between.

I work somatically - looking at how the body stores stress and trauma, and body memories - so we can work on bringing mind and body mind together. Often, the internal conflict we feel comes from heart and head not agreeing/aligning, or when we exist predominantly in the thinking or the feeling rather than operating from both equally.

I'm also a trained meditation teacher, trauma-informed yoga teacher, and offer EMDR.

Drawing on the different qualifications and skills I have attained, as a Therapeutic Guide, I offer guided reflective support to help you identify and achieve personal goals.

My private practice is in Potts Point, Sydney, or we can work online via zoom.

I work with people to build felt Sense of Self through somatic practices and talk therapy. I am also a certified yoga and meditation teacher and can bring these practices into our work together if it’s of interest and helpful.

I work with people navigating major life changes, people who are single and dating, single on purpose, people navigating challenging relationships, and those feeling a stuckness they want to understand and move through.

Working with adoptees is a specialist focus that draws on my lived experience of adoption where I also incorporate peer support into sessions, as needed. I also facilitate a monthly peer group online meet-up for adoptees.

I work with people who identify as LGBTQIA+, people who work in the sex industry, and those seeking to understand repetitive self-soothing behaviours like drug and alcohol use.

For those who are feeling well and looking to deepen relationships - with Self and others - this can be a good time to engage in therapy to explore your embodied experience of Self, and reflect on what’s next in the growth journey.

I have also developed a program for conscious and intentional dating suitable for those looking for more structured support instead of, or to support, counselling.

I am also a counsellor at Rough Patch Counselling (since 2020), a social enterprise providing affordable counselling. Rough Patch opened its doors on Gadigal and Wangal Country in so-called Sydney in August 2020 as a grassroots initiative with a clear mission: to provide affordable, accessible mental health support to people who need it.

I support singles, LGBTQIAPK+ individuals, and sex industry workers, and young people (14+). My areas of focus for Rough Patch clients include relationship issues, life transitions, career challenges, depression, anxiety, and understanding addictive behaviours.

Limited places available for reduced fee sessions for those experiencing financial hardship. I work with Rough Patch clients online or at my Potts Point space.

NOTE: Kimberley’s Rough Patch appointments are currently full into 2026. Visit the Rough Patch website to see all counsellors available.
